Hello Sun Dragon community! For newcomers, Sun Dragon Art & Fiber is an LYS (Local Yarn Shop) in downtown Brevard, North Carolina, specializing in knit and crochet. We have been open for 6 years, moving from a small space to our current location 4 years ago, where we have thrived despite the pandemic, reaching and building a community of "yarnies" across the US and the world through social media and YouTube (Sun Dragon Sideshow and Sun Dragon Tips & Tricks are our YouTube channels).

 

A great opportunity has arisen to move the physical location 1/3 of a mile down Broad Street, out of the heart of downtown, to a bigger space with parking right out front. This move needs to happen quickly, towards the end of October/beginning of November. We know those in our community near and far would like to help, and donating to our moving fundraiser is a great way to contribute and help us design a new space that embodies our knitting family and sets us up for future success in keeping that community strong.

 

Donated funds will be used for moving and design expenses, such as movers the day of to protect our big fixtures, paint and furniture to create a welcoming environment, a sign for the front of our new location, and stability of finances for the time we will be shut down (hopefully only a week or two in the beginning of November).

 

All who donate funds will have recognition on a sign in the new shop (if they wish to remain anonymous we will do so) according to the tiers listed below (monetary amounts will be kept private), and each tier also has a thank you from the shop as listed below. Thank you from Sun Dragon for your consideration!

 

All tiers have "Viking" as part of their designation: we affectionately call our customers Vikings because we joke that they come and "pillage" the shop. It is always a whirlwind helping yarnies select just the right thing for a project, and we love it.

We also have a rewards system called Dragon Dollars cards. When spending money in the shop, each $10 before tax earns a stamp on the card. When the card is full at 24 stamps, the customer earns $25 of shop credit.

 

For every $15 donated, 2 stamps are earned (what would be received for $20 in sales in the shop).
