Self patterning yarn is the best: look like you changed colors and did fancy stitch work with a fraction of the effort! This yarn is designed to pattern as you knit- not a formal pattern, but it will look like you striped and changed colors on some stitches. The thickness of the pattern will depend on the number of stitches across- check out our baby sweater sample: the torso will be similar to an adult hat, the sleeves to socks. Best of all it's sock content with a bit of Nylon in it so you can make thick house or hiking socks!
