This Gauge is a knit and crochet reference guide all in one, as well as a great way to check your gauge for a project! There is an L shaped window in one corner, with inches on one side and centimeters on the other, which is 4" long and 4" high: lay it on top of your knitting or crochet sample, line it up with your stitches, and count to see if you are "on gauge" for a project: patterns often write their gauge in terms of 4 inches or 10 centimeters! The inches side is also full of valuable info: a way to size your standard knitting needles from US 000-15, and crochet hooks from US C-N. There is a conversion chart for US to UK and Canadian sizes, since we all use different numbering systems, as well as categories of yarn "weights" or thicknesses, and typical needles that will be used for those weights. Turn it over to the centimeter side, and you get more metric info, such as the mm size of your needle or hook, as well as the crochet conversion chart for US to UK, and recommended crochet hooks for different weights.
