It also has one edge for inches, one for crochet, as well as a window 2" by 2", a great way to measure your gauge swatch: lay this over your knit or crochet sample, line it up with your stitches, and measure stitches and rows. Many patterns have a 4" (10 cm) listing of gauge, so multiply by 2 to see if you are on gauge!
